Hi,

1) My flat main dooris facing the kitchen entrance. Heard that this not good. We intend to install a door. Does a wooden frame with glass door or an aluminium frame with acrylic door makes any difference?

2) Also the dining area is just beside the main entrance. Is it advisable to put our dining table just beside the Main entrance?

Attached is a copy of our floor plan for your reference. Our Main entrance is facing East.

1. In my opinion, it makes no difference between a wooden - with glass or aluminium frame with acrylic door.

2. Frankly, this has more to do with commonsense, then Feng Shui.

2.1. It has to do with "first impressions". For example, it (the dining table) would be the first time a guest would see when they come into such a home.

2.2. In some homes, the dining table is quite messy and may leave a bad impression, here.

2.3. While for some other homes, if the home is at a corridor unit; neighbours or strangers may pass thru the home, look into the main entrance and at dinner time; see the food etc... i.e. no privacy having dinner.

3. Thus things like standing at the main door looking towards the kitchen and service balcony is the same. Especially if one were to hang laundry such as panties, bra and other clothes; is like leaving a "first impression" ...

4. In Feng Shui, and mainly because of such Commonsense; this is the main rationale why it is said to be no good.
