Does Feng Shui Require to Evacate Tomb & to Temple

1. Burial or burial in a good site is said to benefit the decendants if buried in a good location especially with good Feng Shui.

2. However, once we dig up a grave; create the remains; creation is a neutral situation. The saying goes "ashes to ashes; dust to dust". Feng Shui no longer is link to nor affect cremation or vice versa.

Thks for yr advise. But are there any procedure steps needed to exhumed & cremated through Feng Shui till the final placing at the Temple ?

These are some considerations:-

1. Usually you need to laise with two parties:-

1.1 the government body or those in-charge of exhumation

1.2 They will get in touch with the grave digger(s). In fact, grave diggers are more worried about getting the correct protocol done! As they feel that they are equally affected if they do the wrong thing!

1.3 For example, whenever those in the know; would place a canvas sheet above the grave before digging it.

1.4 Usually, a representative of the family would be present: to later give a hong bao (red packet).

1.5 If possible avoid bringing youngsters to the site. Youngsters upto 12 years old should avoid being present. Never accept anything dug from the grave. For example, some tokens like a coat vest button or "jewellry".

1.6 This aspect usually includes upto the cremation. Or for cremation some do get the services of people like the Singapore Casket company to co-ordinate e.g. visit their office to view samples of urns and tombstone markers and inscriptions. Some temples don't have elaborate niches, just placing the urn with photo on to a ledge. While others have a niche where one can enclose the urn with a marble or granite tombstone.

2.1 Usually, is to secure a niche. As often, the Casket company will help to co-ordinate bringing the ashes to their office. And later, one need to make an appointment to go down; help to place some of the fragments of skeleton into the urn. And later, the casket company will arrange for placement of the urn.

2.2 Some even purchase a niche for two or even more family members. For example, they will purchase a niche for two persons. But place the urn of the deceased (Perhaps Male husband). And later, the wife could join him. And the only thing is that the tombstone will be demolished and a new one with both husband and wife.

3. Feng Shui favours South facing tombs. And often South or south-easterly facing is preferred.

4. However; when we cremate a person: this is consideredNEUTRAL in Feng Shui.Unlike a burial where it is said that a good burial site canaffect the decendants.

5. When we cremate: ashes to ashes - Feng Shui is no longer an issue. Even if we scatter theashes into the sea or placing itin a niche; it does not affect the decendants. Whether we place the urn on the top shelf or sandwiched below it.

6. Somedo get the temple advice and engage "priests" from recommendations from the temple to perform some rituals. Here,some either seek advice from their local temple priests orespecially from specialised ones at the temple (temple co-ordinators for advice) As there are various denominations of priests : taoists to other denominations. These priests or some specialised in this area and should guide one along.

7. In Singapore, you can literally forget about getting assistance from Geomancers especially since this field is limited and honestly; don't often happen every day. So cannot be bread and butter type of career choice.
