Dear Master, I really appreciate your website. Plenty of useful information.
I'm having a great difficulty locating the facing direction of my house. There is a gate infront of the small bridge above the pond leading to my living room which we use very rare. It's the garage door we use all the time and also the back door. Due to the presence of the riverlet (small river) in my backyard and a koi Pond infront of my house, it's making it more difficult to locate the facing direction of my house. Please note that the yellow line defines the boundary of my property. The lane does not have so much traffic, maybe around 30 cars in a day.
Furthermore i have a home office situated just above the Dining and TV room. In this case, where should I face while sitting in my home office? I have difficulty finding the sections in the home office since it's within the house and door opposite to the window facing the Guest bedroom. Can you please help me? Please refer to the picture for clarity.

Regards and Thanks.

These are some of the considerations:-

1. Attached please find an illustration.

2. I have already marked the centrepoint of your home. And you can use this as the basis of a Flying Star PIE chart to chart out the various sectors. Note: PIE chart is easier than the 9 grid in such a layout plan.

3. Based on your description, the side facing the riverlet should not be considered as the facing direction of the home, since the living areas is bounded by both the garage and the kitchen and that there are also the stairs and wash area, here.

4. For the purpose of drawing a Flying Star chart; the potential facing directions are either:marked in RED; A or B or C.

5. For those who had stayed in a home for quite sometime could try to map out the flying stars under facing direction A 343 degrees &/or B 30 &/or C 70 and see which chart matches the "history" of the home.

6. In your situation, the most likely (1st choice) facing direction is marking in red: A. And because of the slight slant in your home; another 2nd choice is marking B. While marking C is the breath of the house vs the length; there is a higher weightage : or the most yang or the most windows or surface area at marking A or B.

Dear Master,
Thank you a lot for the
prompt reply. I will try to do a flying star chart to match the history
of the family to get a better result.
For the home office which is
situated just above the dining and tv room, where can I take the facing
direction? I mean where is it best to place a desk? attached is a layout
of the home office situated just above the dining and tv room. Should I
take the facing direction of the ground floor being the same for the
home office or this can vary? I mean to say for a house on the whole i
got to know how to apply the pie chart, but I'm confused on individual
rooms in the house. Mainly for the home office.
Note that the floor
plan attached is the first floor super imposed on the previous floor
layout(the ground floor).
I would also like to know if you do onsite
consulting for clients outside of your country.

With thanks.

1. Since this is a home office, you can treat the home office sector within the home's Flying Star Chart - especially since it is not a large area.

2. Thus, you can super-impose the Flying Star (pie chart or 9 grid) and determine the sector star influences within that sector based on the actual home's facing direction.

3. You can also apply the Eight House concept to see if you are able to sit facing a good direction especially: "Prosperity" and/or "Excellent" sector.
