In General, these are the considerations or pairings of roof tile colors and exterior wall finishes:-

1. If possible, it is advisable to avoid a BLUE roof. According to the I-ching, blue symbolizes difficulty, and if it covers the entire roof, it resembles water above you.

2. If a blue roof MUST be utilized, then the exterior walls should be white or off-white, but never cream or beige.

3. If a grey roof is chosen, the optimal choice for the exterior walls is white. Grey exterior walls are acceptable, but if a grey roof is used, cream or beige walls should be avoided.

4. According to the current Feng Shui period, the most favorable colors are earth tones (cream or beige), particularly for exterior walls. Therefore, if a green roof is employed, cream, beige, or peachy colors are suitable.

5. WHITE roofs are not recommended as they symbolize "death or mourning."

6. Common traditional colors include orange or maroon. In such cases, any exterior wall colors are permissible. For instance, if roofs of these colors are used, exterior wall colors can vary from white to off-white, cream or beige, to red brick tile colors, and so forth.

If you have a blue roof,  how do you fix it?  is repainting the only option?

Repainting is the only option.

Hopefully, the home does not have three or more major "leaks" = imbalances. If so, it can still sustain such a "hit".

If I have black roof, is that bad? What should I do with exterior in that case?
Thanks

Rarely do we observe black roofs unless they pertain to the water tank, as seen in The Quinn condominium.

Are you instead alluding to grey roofs?

It is commonly understood that black surfaces absorb heat.

Unless, perhaps, in a conflict area where such roofs might render the residence less conspicuous at night?

It's this color :

and it's A shape of the roof, like triangle.

It's not war zone.
Also, it is not very hot here, except 2 months of summer. Most of the time I'm trying to make the house warmer.

OIC! I forgot! You are most like "up there" in the Northern hemisphere.... (or down-under)

Cold country..

Generally, the external walls can be white or light cream are equally acceptable.

Common sense says greying combined with black looks gloomy...thus avoid dull Colours...

Thank you! I appreciate your help and I will do by your suggestion :)

My front door faces east and back door is west. My front door and shutters are dark forest green, I am thinking of Installing  a green roof. Is that good for my house? Currently have grey roof.

In Asia, green roof was common especially for places of worship.

In the 1970’s some homes use green roof tiles. But the most common today is the traditional clay or orange coloured tiles.

Well green is in my opinion still an okay colour.. under your description, above.

I'm brand new to feng shui; I'm moving into a red brick home, front door facing east, with a black shingled asphalt roof. My #1 question, that I can't seem to find an answer to is this:

Does feng shui allow painting a brick exterior home? Thank you in advance.

Nearly all colours except Grey.

The standard clay tiles is good or the maroon colour tiles.

If other materials, also avoid greying tone. Grey goes with white exterior.

Greetings, Mr. Lee!

Please advise. We have an orange-colored brick exterior to our house. We need to replace our roof. What color do you recommend we use for our roof shingles?

Many thanks in advance for your help!

Hello Cecil, are there any colors we should refrain from using for the roof?

1. Blue and its shades must be avoided.
2. If the roof is grey, the external walls should be painted white.
3. The remaining colors are acceptable, but please consider point 4 (below).
4. If you have a nostalgic feeling for Chinese temples, then green should be used.

There is no requirement for an individual's birth date when selecting roof tiles.

A photograph conveys a multitude of meanings!

In I-ching, the presence of water (blue) above one's head signifies challenges.

I'd like to ask - does the roof colour of the house matter in Feng Shui? We are getting the roof restored and are given these colour choices (attached photos). Would you recommend a particular colour for us?

1. First Choice: Any of these  colours are okay. And external wall colours can be white, cream (yellow) or peach:-

2. These colours are acceptable PROVIDED external walls are WHITE or OFF-White. But avoid peach or cream external walls.

3. If one is nostalgic about temples or love to mimic some temples...... external walls can be white or cream or peach tones....
