Posted September 29, 201014 yr Dear Master,I use my bedroom both for resting and for studying/work purposes.I am considering putting up a picture of a lake in my bedroom. Most pictures of lakes I have found either come with sunrise or sunset.I have read on the internet that sunset symbolises negative chi? and that sunrise symbolises optimism, energy etcYet, when I look at various pictures of sunrise and sunset, I always find myself leaning towards the calmness and serenity of sunset.Should I therefore hang a picture of sunrise or sunset? and is what I read on the internet true - that sunrise represents energy and sunset is associated with negative chi? Please advise, thank you!
Posted September 29, 201014 yr Staff These are some of the considerations:-1. Let's draw a parallel with things like: 1.1. Can I have mirrors in the bedroom?1.1.1 Some Feng Shui books say that when we sleep; our spirit rises to wander around. And if we do have a mirror e.g. facing the bed; the person's spirit would rise up; see's itself and gets "shocked" seeing it's own image.1.1.2 This is why, in the past, many of the Cathode-ray old TV screens are highly reflective; thus some geomancers say; don't place a tv screen facing the bed. Else cover it up.1.1.3 What happens if the individual is not scared of mirrors; but in-fact, what happen if this person's spirit, loves to see it's image in the mirror e.g. looks at the mirror; to "comb hair" before, going off to meet "his/her" friends.2. It is like on a continuum of "hot or cold".2.1 Some of us can sleep in a bedroom full of mirrors; while others feel very uncomfortable. 2.2 In fact, for some not only they have mirrors say on their wardrope facing their bed; at nite, their windows and/or windows bay also have glass panels that are equally reflective. 2.3 For some; I have seen even a mirror above their bed.3. The "problem" with us humans is that often; if we have family or friends visiting our home; or even reading books or surfing the web; were told that it is very inauspious to do so; our mind (psychological) begins to feel uncomfortable.4. Nowadays, many led or oed tv sets do not have reflect screens.5. Human nature varies: for example some of us can eat very spicy or hot chilli; while others dare not even touch mild chillies.6. From a Feng Shui point of view; some books or article says that dont' introduce "water scenes" into the bedroom as it is considered "too yin". 7. Again, many of our concerns relate to AUTO-SUGGESTION, thanks to everything we hear, read and think about. Hopefully, this does not lead to SELF-FULFIllING prophecy!8. Personally, if you feel comfortable with say the painting; you can always try it out. As I mentioned above: often it is "to each our own".9. Another saying goes " One man's meat is another man's poison" or rather "One man's delicay is another man's yucky, yucky stuff!"
