Remedy for Main door facing elevator

Hi,
My apartment main door faces the elevator directly and our family has run into several bad luck lately. I read about hanging a bagua mirror above the main door and that it can have adverse effect if done wrongly. I am living in US and our management won't allow us to have thingsabove the door.
Are there any other remedies besides hanging the bagua mirror?
