Posted September 20, 201113 yr Staff The oldest public housing development is located along Tiong Bahru area.The old airport road area type of public housing is considered second to the abovedevelopment.Fortunately, these quaint 1960's type of public housing has not being demolised along Dakota Crescent. These are "retained" for now...Because of it's close proximity to Singapore's first ever airport located near-by (currently People's Association along Nicol Highway; these flats are always up to a certain resticted height.Since the airport had moved to Paya Lebar and now to Changi airpot; newer development across the street e.g. Jalan empat etc... are high rise development. Not limited by the height restrictions of the ancient past.. anymore...
October 16, 20177 yr Author Staff Dakota Crescent is a ghost town. Ready for redevelopment. Most likely the last set of photos that I will ever take of this iconic development. Majority of the close-up photos are of a single 7 storey block : 2 Dakota Close Some of the windows are opened. Rest assured, no human beings are staying in these vacant units:
October 27, 20195 yr Author Staff Dakota Crescent... many blocks resemble the side view of a curved stool... Believe it or not... Most likely the architect who designed this development previously had a love of sitting on such a stool... LOL
