Which method is correct?

I have read a few books on fengshui, and recently after reading Joey Yap's Fengshui Interior, I have gotten a little confused and hysterical about my new house (moving in on the 15th this month). My house (together with the main door) faces North. It was bought before I started any research on Fengshui. Destiny arranged such passion to surface way too late. ; p The area around the house seems okay and the rooms in most way does not violate the Form Theory Taboos. I plotted the Bagua sector of the house by finding the Bagua North, and arranged the furniture according to each Bagua sector. (drawing 8 lines through the center of my house's premise to determine each sector). The method advocated was simple. Arrange the furniture and decorate the house according to the Bagua sector. My living room is within the Sector of NW and North. So it is between Metal and Water. So I use appropriate colors for this area (Grey/white, Black). The main door (sliding door) is at the Living Room. My interpretation would be this house cannot tap FULLY the good energies generated from the outside. Well. Here's the question: Which method I employed is more reliable?
