Here, the architect and designer forgot about the (reflective)properties of a mirror.
I first realised the poor design when I literally used the same urinal. And when I turned to go (out) I saw the view from where I was standing... at the spot in the photo named " From the Urinal1.jpg ".
Immediately I said... OOPS! If I can see the walkway; someone at the walkway can look into the toilet.
I know... it is less interesting to look into a male toilet. But this is beside the point! The whole toilet thing is : POOR DESIGN and POOR interior design work also.
Location: 5th Level, The Estuary condo:Male toilet. As the female toilet is a mirror of the male toilet, letyour imagination, flow.
I dare not walk past the Female toilet to take a look.
But, please see attachments.
The toilet(s) at The Estuary does not have a toilet door. It is suppose to take advantage of turning corridors as a passive way to avoid toilet doors.
BUT, take a look. Withouta toilet door; the mirror above thesink reflects the Urinal!
Apparently, both the architect and designer forgot the reflective properties ofmirror!

Some architects decided that one of the methods is to install a SLOPING glass roof. Through gravity, the rain can be effectively be channelled towards a specific direction of the house.
Unfortunately, glass panels are highly reflective. And if the conditions are right; at certain sunny days; the rays of the sun could shine onto the glass and it's glare focused into the windows or sliding doors of the 2nd storey (level).
Again, it does not take much common sense that before, one permanently install such a sloping glass porch roof; do study where the sun rays (morning or afternoon) and also the ANGLE of the tilt of the glass porchpanel(s).

A good parent will always teach their daughters (when wearing a short skirt) to CLOSE their legs when seating properly.
You don't want to let that little girl wearing a short skirt seat opening her legs wide and exposing her undies to the whole cheeky boys + men! Unless of course that girl is still wearing pampers!
Again, this is common sense with a spice of the reflective properties of a mirror. Add that with a girl with no manners.

It is essential to ensure that new buildings, homes, Additions, and Alteration works are considerate of their neighbors. Careful consideration should be given to selecting appropriate materials and designs for external walls and roofing.

Notably, myVillage in Serangoon Gardens darkened ts floor-to-ceiling windows in 2010, after nearby residents complained that the glass reflected too much sunlight and heated up their homes in the evenings.

The neighbourhood mall subsequently replaced the reflective glass with two-way tinted glass a few months later. 

The regulatory update is so that designs can be enjoyed by all without causing anyone inconvenience or hardship, said Mr Khaw.

It comes as building designs here are becoming more complex and elaborate.

"With an increasing number of developers and architects exploring the use of less conventional materials, some form of check and balance is necessary so that design does not come at the cost of comfort and safety," he said.
 

 

Question: Glass roof was not recommended due to glare from the sun. We were wondering if the shape of the original glass roof (blue)is changed to the alternate glass roof (yellow), will it be okay?

1. Not meant to say cannot use glass roof. Can use only if it does not inadvertently cause glare to upper floors of own home.

2. Avoid blue roof glass. As in I-ching it represents difficulty. Yellow glass roof is okay = but frankly, first time, I heard of a house use YELLOW glass roof. I wonder how the house looks like when there is sun-light. In my opinion, not Feng Shui.. but one might seem to step into an Alien planet ... such as Mars each time one ...

Look at the photo. Common sense says does not reflect the kitchen table top

Wanted to reconcile on the mirror beside the dining area. Since there seems to be issues with bringing a big piece of mirror through elevators, interior designer was looking to cut up the mirror into 6 panels like below (the yellow lines delineate the mirror panels). Is this ok?

The main consideration is the split-line of the mirror should not split the dining table INTO HALF.

Thus does not matter how many pieces of mirrors there are:-

Make sure that your actual dining table length and location is precisely located. Sot that the split line will never be exactly at it's centrepoint

Frankly unlike mirrors, these are not really that noticeable.

Generally, traditionally, if one were to buy antique partitions, they always comes in FOUR (4) or four seasons on each panel e.g. Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.

Not perfect, but okay lah - not for the fussy
