Some geomancers have the mistaken notion that all books must be "locked-up" or kept in closed cabinets.
As they had read that books are like "knifes".
In my opinion, this is far from the truth!
Many of us throughout ages have a desk and all our frequently used books are at hand and easily retrieved and placed back on shelves.
This is especially true for open book-shelves close to where our hand can easily retrieve and place back. We can then place all our current semester's books within easy reach. This is opposed to having to open book-self doors to retrieve them.
