What is interesting is that can you see the free range chickens & ducks along the fringe of the river? Today, you still can get commercial chickens packaged as "kampong chicken". They are the equivalent of free range chickens in the west. The only difference is that they are always outside roaming as it is. While in the west, free range farming is that at night, the chickens are made to go into a large shelter. There is a chicken rice store along River Valley road, selling kampong chickens. They are thinner, not so oily....
