Under Symbolism in Feng Shui; best to use even number of chairs for a dining table.

What about a bench? Does it count as one chair? No.

Thus, if one has a bench and 4 chairs at a dining table; the bench is not counted.

Thus ideally, best to avoid having a bench with 3 chairs at a dining table.

Based oncommon sense, best to avoid gaps such as those shown in the photo: Asoften,such gaps may "pinch" one's skin. Not exactly comfortable, rite?
