Hi Master Cecil Lee,

I went house hunting a few days ago and was offered only 2 units and was wondering is it a bad Feng Shui anot as i am beginner . I would like to seek your advice on the following 2 units.

Unit 1 : House on 2nd floor, directly above rubbish collection on level 1 and substation next to it.

Unit 2 : House on ground level. Facing hospital.

Please advice.

1. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, this is not ideal especially the idea of living above or near to the rubbish collection.

2. As for the substation: be careful of the roof-line or if the station is at an angle with a pointed edge aimed towards the 2nd floor unit.

2.1 Otherwise, in theory, there is no scientific proof of any ill effects of living close-by to a sub-station.

2.2  But, here.. one may need to convince a future potential buyer... should one consider exiting the property.

3. Also under common sense: unless this unit is given "free" or sold at rock bottom prices... it may affect the resale value should one later decide to sell it on the open market.

B. You wrote: "Unit 2 : House on ground level. Facing hospital."

a. Under common sense: hopefully the unit is not facing the pathology department.

b. This is because every hospital has such a department to do autopsy or as a holding area. In SGH, it is Block 9: A whole block dedicated to the "dead". For this Hospital suicide cases, unusual death etc...But if the hospital is a community hospital: most likely died of old age etc...

c. Where; when a patient has died and wheeled to this area: later for the relatives to arrange for the body to be transferred to a morque etc..

d. Under Chinese beliefs: many Chinese have a taboo of having a home 24/7 with the living room/ bedrooms facing a hospital.

e. Again, in the future; when one wants to market the unit, you and your agent have a hard time .... marketing and closing the deal.

f. Although the developer's agent has been very up-front with you; But... in my opinion, unless one has financial constraints or the price is too attractive... simply walk away... (no, no... run away...)  ?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?????‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?????‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️?‍♀️

Hi Master Cecil,

there is a swimming pool in front of the balcony and swimming pool ends at the edge of the balcony

beside the balcony is the bedroom

the edge of opposite building is pointing at the bedroom

is this considered as poison arrow to the unit and can the swimming pool in front dispel the negative energy?

Thank you.

Part 1: Sample illustration from the recently launched Park Place Residences at Paya Lebar

Such club-house / facilities flat-roof lines is like a horizontal guillotine.

What is the impact?

Depending on the distance of the roof-line to the nearest block/stack; it may in fact be a poison arrow or "guillotine" aimed towards e.g. a unit's opening such as a window or balcony.

Part 2: Why many geomancers automatically consider it auspicious or good that there is a swimming pool especially if it is at the frontage of a home (landed or apartment)

This is by virtue that normally, nothing else is built above the pool of water. Thus as a result = clear space.

Clear space is an added bonus if a unit facing a pool of water as the "Bright Hall" effect is larger i.e. much more wider space.

As compared to a home that faces another building or lots of trees in it's immediate frontage.

Thus to answer your question: NO. In fact, a swimming pool in front means that there may be nothing to block a poison arrow or edge of another building.

However, several factors need to be taken into consideration:

1. Distance between the two blocks.
2. Where is the edge of the neighbour's block/stack aimed at? An opening of one's unit? Yes/No.
