Super-impose the 2nd storey layout plan onto the ground floor plan. And check that the 2nd storey toilet(s) are not directly above the ground floor main entrance door. Make sure that the toilet(s) are also not directly above the stove, a guest bed on the ground floor or above an altar. 2. For the 2nd storey, just make sure that the stove is not directly above one's bed which may be directly above the kitchen.

As the title of this thread says "Layout planning of landed properties & common sense" Feng Shui is not everything. Thus the clue of this title is simply pure "common sense". Just because it is common sense and posted in a geomancy forum does not mean that this is Feng Shui. Many Feng Shui concepts are based on common sense. For example; there is a higher probability of a fire starting in a kitchen then elsewhere. The clue is: fire rises upwards. You wrote: "What can be done in such case?" There is nothing magical or mysterious abot what can or cannot be done. The best is to avoid a bedroom not directly above the kitchen - IF possible. Logically, perhaps one can add a smoke detector attached to an alarm panel etc...
