For the Year of the Rabbit, 1999 avoid any major renovations in the EAST. This includes digging the ground (or earth) in this Direction.

What about building a new house?
Since you are building a new house, this is not considered RENOVATIONS and does not come under this Theory.
If you are considering renovations in the EAST section of your house / office, why not save yourself / company some money and do it after the Rabbit Year!

Hi! What about hanging pictures or putting up shelves at the East where the
work will involve 'knocking/making' holes (nails or hanger pins)) on the
East wall ? Is this considered as 'disturbing the Grand Duke?' I am asking
this question for a friend of mine.

I could be wrong on this one, but the way I understood this Grand Duke Theory is never make any renovations opposite the direction of the Grand Duke. In 1999, the Grand Duke is located in the east, therefore never make renovations opposite him which is the west. East renovations will be fine. We must be behind the grand duke and never face him.

Overall, `disturbing' the Grand Duke would mean doing renovation (minor or
major) but in this case, frankly, I don't see knocking a few holes on the
East wall as one. It is ok to go ahead with this. But some overzealous FS
practioner may say otherwise.
As for the book, currently, I put it on hold for the moment.. but will
continue this year. This is because I am currently working on the on-line
course for www.geomancy-u.com and another reason is because currently,
there are so many FS books out there and am still thinking of whether to
come out with a `general' first book or looking into specialised areas to
write on as I feel that it is no point coming out with something
`different'.
