Dear Anon,
Under the Chinese Animal Signs if you notice the picture below, the animal opposite each other are considered the `worst' pairings:-

For example, the Rat is opposite the Horse.
The Dragon is opposite the Dog are `bad' pairings.
If one believes in the Chinese Astrology, do remember that one way you can improve your relationship and love life by understanding one another's personality. (Strengths and Weakness).
Maturity does help in a relation and it is also about give and take:)
