Wanted to check with you regarding our dining table. You mentioned in our house layout plan that our dining table should preferably have 4 legs, can I ask if the picture below is considered 4 legs or 2 legs?

Q: Wanted to check with you regarding our dining table. You mentioned in our house layout plan that our dining table should preferably have 4 legs, can I ask if the picture below is considered 4 legs or 2 legs?

1. Ideally it should be 4 legs. More to do with common sense. As often the four pillars would be at the edge of 4 sides of the table top.

2. Thus provided it is built solidly, it will not topple down due to centre of gravity concerns especially if it is one leg.

3. The table shown above even makes the table more destructive proof. Thus a blessing in Japan. Where the Japanese can always hide below the table ... in a 7 to 9 earthquake.

4. As the table looks solid, it fits the common sense concept. But in practise, hard to clean.... below the table due to the additional support so close to the floor.

Q: What about a table with x 2 inverted T shaped legs?

Reply: This type is still ok so long as each leg's T frame is solid and so long as one leans at the edge of a table, it does not topple down

The key has more to do with centre of gravity.

But everyone seems to bundle this as a Feng Shui thing... not true.. it is based purely on Common sense!
