My friend's dorm wing is reported to be haunted. Sometimes she'll get an unexpected panicky, scared feeling when she's in her room, and it really interferes with her sleep and well-being. Is there any way she can keep the ghost out of her room, like with charms or something or furniture arrangement? By the way, she has a full-length mirror on the inside of the door. Does that have anything to do with it?

Dear Stephanie,
Currently, with the limited information available, it is difficult to
ascertain if it is a haunting.
1. Perphaps whether it is possible to find out a little about the history of
the room? If it is not the room but the land the dorm was built... any clues
available.
2. As you have not mentioned which country her school is, as some Chinese
`methods' may not be able to be applied effectively to other religions. If
there is indeed a real `haunting' and the location is the Far East, the
school usually asks a priest or if it is a Catholic/Christian school a
`brother' or a pastor to perform some rites to cleanse the place. This is
the most effective method.
3. Alternatively, depending on your friend's religion she may consult a
Priest and ask for help. Usually, most `authentic' Priests / Monks or Pastor
' are familiar with (within their beliefs) to provide some sort of a
`charm'.
As this is not within the purview of Feng Shui, I am unable to assist
further.
The current tools available under Feng Shui are only to `detect' ghosts.
These are:-
1. The Chinese compass or Luopan. The Luopan is a `ghost detector' and
many a times, I have detected ghosts when holding the Luopan. The
characteristic is that the centre needle of the Luopan `goes wild'.
2. Can you check which direction is the dorm? As the most likely haunting
takes place on the North-East
(devil's gate). The next few locations are the South-West and West (all Yin
locations).
3. Outside the exterior of this room (dorm) is there a large tree or many
plants at this location?
4. Another method of detecting ghosts is through the use of the Flying
Star Chart. When one compares say the flying star number e.g one may see a
picture e.g. young, woman & robe. We can picture for ourselves of a
young women who had previously hang herself in the room.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil
