May I know if I can do the open door ceremony and renovation ceremony together at the same day where renovation will be done a few days later after the ceremony. Would appreciate your advise of the procedure if I were to do both together.

Chinese customs are not cast in stone. Under symbolism, if can help, do both procedures at separate days - if possible. Else do the reno at least an hour after the first.
