Hello Cecil: Is it true that the Chinese believe it to be inauspicious to place a loaf of bread on it's side? Thank you!

Dear Elena,
Yes, there are some truth in this. But it is more a belief than Feng Shui.
However, some `modern' bread that are rectangular in shape, do not meet the above `criteria'. These bread are machine cut and sits on the base of one rectangular side. Some may even consider the bread on a side but difficult to `differentiate.'
