In Flying Star Theory, how do the 3 factors -Earth, Facing & Year work with one another and result in various flying star combinations? For short term/immediate impact, which factor takes precedence and vice versa?
As for the flying stars - Mountain & Water, and the base number, which one has the biggest impact on the short term?

Dear Jo Yong,
In general,
1. For the Flying star numbers, the most important point is to check all
three numbers i.e. the base no.; the mountain # and the water # to see if
they are in balance or out of balance. If it is out of balance, a cure would
be needed e.g. ` 6 coins'.
2. Based on the 81 - Interpretations, mountain # and water # can be
associated with an interpretation. Here, it is good to be aware of this when
looking at the sector particularly if it is a place where one may spent time
at. For example, where it happens to be the bed.
3. Usually, under the 20 year Flying Star analysis, a sector could be out of
balance. We should then look at the yearly star to find out if because of
the Yearly # influence, can the sector `balance/imbalance' be changed?
For example, under the 20 year Flying Star, the cure is to place `6 coins'.
But because of the Yearly influence, instead, you need to use a `fire' cure
instead. Here, it is best to use the `cure' based on the Yearly Flying Star.
4. The key success factor is to relate all three: mountain / water / base
number in one's analysis rather than to take a myopic view of using only one
of these to get the most impact. This is because, if one understands how a
Flying Star is interpreted, it is based on the Five Elements concept.
5. Here, for each sector i.e. the mountain / water /base number represents a
specific element and its strength and it is because of the interaction of
all three that either supports each other, destroys each other or combined
together to give a bad influence such as mountain star = #5 water star =
#2 base = #5 .
6. In the above example, it is not so much of " flying stars - Mountain &
Water, and the base number, which one has the biggest impact " but because
of the 5 2 5 combination, that causes REAL problems. Here, one cannot say
that the base number has the most impact. Neither can we say that it is the
moutain or water star with a bad impact. It is all three combined that
provides a potential calamity.
7. For the above reason, I am a firm believer of using all the various
`tools' and maximising our EARTH LUCK by scoring good "marks" in all
categories.
Contrast this to one paying homage to a `CORNER'. If one is lucky and get
the `corner' correct, the impact is not as great as one which maximises our
luck in all sectors and using the appropriate theory or concept for
different areas.
