Wind Chimes - hollow or solid rod

Hi Cecil
I wanted to know that in a wind chime is it necessary to have only hollow rod ones or if they are solid it is also fine? i am buying it for my house and in the shop they have hollow rod wind chimes as well as soild rods without any holes in the rods.

For a wind chime, it is advisable to purchase it with hollow rods rather than solid rods.
