Posted May 14, 199926 yr Dear Margarita,There are four main considerations in your case:-1. Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui:-- Place your table against a solid wall. If this is not possible, place it against a partition.- Even if it is the centre of the house, there must be proper backing`behind you' i.e. there should bea solid wall at the back of your seat. It should not be `exposed'area were people can walk aroundor even a glass window.- Yes, it is inauspicious to have the working desk face the kitchen. Here, if you notice, the Shapes and Form School of Feng Shui need to befollowed closesly.2. Eight House TheorySit facing one of your good directions for work.3. Flying Star Theory (Optional)As the Flying Star divides a home/office into 9 sectors, it is good tosee whether the centre location isauspicious or not. Currently, most houses built under Period 7 (1984to the year 2003) the centre of thehouse is usually the " Current Prosperity " location.4. If your desk is right in the middle of the centre of the house, wherepossible, leave the space around thecentre clear e.g. do not place a Personal Computer etc...Frankly, this fourth point is based on my personal opinion after havinganalysed many cases related toFeng Shui problems. Therefore, for anyone reading this, I leave it toyou to decide for yourself whether youwant to follow the fourth advice or not. However, the centre of thehouse is considered the Earth element.Warmest Regards,Cecil-----Original Message-----From: Listmanager To: Recipients of 'free-advice' suppressed suppressed>Date: Friday, May 14, 1999 2:41 AMSubject: the middle of a house Quote From: "Margarita Lu" This message is sent from "free-advice" Mailing List.Is it bad to locate your working area in the middle of the house?? Posted May 17, 199926 yr Thanks for your advice. But I am still at a loss as to where I am going to put the furnitures. I am a west person, and I am attaching an MS Word file to show you my apartment's layout (pretty much drawn to scale). The sliding glass doors lead out to a patio which overlooks the swimming pool. I was thinking of putting the desk against the kitchen's counter so it has the view of the pool, but that will make me face east, which is the direction of death. Plus, there really isn't much room in the layout so that I could avoid putting the desk in the center of the room. Any suggestion will be very much appreciated.
