Dear Jun,
1. Since this is a concrete beam (earth element) the best element to destroy or neutralise it is the use of the wood element.
Where wood destroys earth.
2. A good wood element is shown under the following link:-
You can view a sample of the placement of a flute under this url:
http://www.geomancy.net/mypictures/cgi-bin/imagesearch.cgi?img=0&search=flute&cat=all&x=34&y=7
3. You will notice that the flute is placed as:-
------
/ \
/ \
is that it also resembles the top half of the Ba Gua trigram.
4. If the beam is a wooden beam, then the best element to neutralise it is the use of metal element such as using the i-ching coins.
Some practioners use round coins or `star' shaped metal coins.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Dear Cecil,
Thank you. Any orientation of the flute (ie mouth piece)? How about location in the span of the beam (ie just on top the sofa or in middle of the span)?
best regards.

Dear Jun,

1. In my region, acquiring a pair of flutes featuring the phoenix and dragon design is quite simple. The phoenix, symbolizing the female, is typically hung on the left side, while the dragon, representing the male, is placed on the right side, as the dragon is associated with the East. The ease of hanging such flutes is due to the importance of ensuring that the design is not inverted, allowing for easy alignment of the mouthpiece with the pictorial representation.

2. It may not be feasible to come across a pair of flutes with similar designs in your country. In my view, if your flute showcases any illustrations, it is essential to ensure that they are not displayed upside down.

3. In the absence of drawings on the pair of flutes, interpretations by various Feng Shui practitioners may vary. However, I believe that as long as the flutes have the correct profile, resembling the trigram outline as depicted in the previous images, the absence of drawings should not pose a significant issue. If further clarification is needed, one can position the mouthpiece accordingly: for the left flute, the mouthpiece should be oriented upwards, and for the right flute, a mirrored orientation should be followed.

4. Placing the flutes just above the sofa seat where one typically sits is considered more precise and effective. Therefore, if the sofa seat is positioned on one side, the flutes should be directly above it, rather than in the middle span if the sofa seat is absent.

5. The positioning of the flutes on either side of the beam does not hold significant importance. I trust that you now have a clearer understanding of the placement guidelines.

Warmest Regards,
Cecil
