Dear Rebecca,
Usually, we should take the shape of crystals based on various shapes that we like and thus wear them.
Overall, there are so many different shapes and designs and it is quite difficult to place them into specific categories.
The shapes you mentioned, heart, star are usually worn symbollically as a decor linked perhaps to `romance' or love.
