Our brand new bedroom furniture has sharp corners. to alleviate the poison arrows from the nightstands, can i place a scarf or piece of fabric over them when we sleep? this seems like the easiest way. will it work?

Yes, so long as:
1. If the sharp corner(s) cannot be seen, it no longer becomes a threat.
2. Breaking the profile of the sharp corner would allevite the poison arrow(s).
