Hi. I'm a new member and am not sure how the conferences work. After
posting this message, will I get emails from people who are members of this

Anyway, I have a question about the 20 year periods and about what happens
to a number's energy and behavior (irrespective of its classic "good"/"bad"
characteristics) in the other eight 20 year periods when it is not the
"prevailing" number, e.g., number 7 currently.
So, what I've heard is that a number prevails for 1 period, remains in a
diminishing growth phase for another 2 periods, goes dead for 4 more
periods, and then starts to head back (still being weak) toward prominence
for another 2 periods.
I have read that ANY of the stars or numbers (no matter how naturally
fortuitous, like an 8) is apt to behave badly when in a "dead" or "weak"
period phase, and fairly well (or even fantastically) during its 20 year
reign of prominence and for 2 subsequent periods (but as the energy gets
increasingly weaker).

1. Yes, Flying Star is based on the 9 periods of the Chinese calendar system.
2. For the benefit of users who are not aware what is the nine periods. You can view this URL:

3. One 1 Cycle of the lunar calendar consists of 180 years or 9 periods x 20 years.
4. Each cycle is divided into 3 groups: Upper, Middle and Lower. Each group comprise 3 periods. Each period is 20 years.
5. This is where the Flying Star Feng Shui is based on this 20 year cycle.
6. And as you have mentioned can be classified as the Year cycle.
From what you had mentioned, it is true that within each 20 year cycle, the numbers or periods 1 , 2, 3... to 9 flows in each year.
In general it goes from `birth' Period 1 to `struggle' Periods 3 to 6. And `prosperity' around Period 7 to 9. And returns to birth again.
Therefore, for example, each year is govern by a `Period number'. Please see below:-
Year 2000 - Period 9
Year 2001 - Period 8
Year 2002 - Period 7
Year 2003 - Period 6
Year 2004 - Period 5
Year 2005 - Period 4
Year 2006 - Period 3
Year 2007 - Period 2
Year 2008 - Period 1
Year 2009 - Period 9
Year 2010 - Period 8
Year 2011 - Period 7
Year 2012 - Period 6
Year 2013 - Period 5
From the above, one can find that in Year 2001 - this is the new Period 1 and in year 2009 - this is the last Period 9. And in 2010 - Period 1 starts again.
