First, thankyou for your prompt reply to my last message.
I read messages regarding use of bottle gourds in windows opposite the main door. It may be suitable for our house, we have this problem. My question is that since this is the southern sector of our living room would a green jade bottle gourd be suitable as I understand a silver bottle gourd would not. It seems to be hard to get a real gourd, but not impossible if that is the best choice. I am striving to balance the elements of our home, south being my "excellent" direction, my Gua element fire,it seems a good one to energise so I don't want to place something that will not be in harmony. Unfortunately my most unfavourable element is earth and I think jade represents this.(I may be over thinking the situation....)

Usually, if you can obtain, a natural dried out bottle gourd i.e. brown in colour.
Is it possible to obtain this type of bottle gourd.
Try to find the above first before, using others such as jade or silver - if possible. Although, this two type can be used. Between this two (jade or silver) `metal' silver is preferred over jade.
