I need to know if it matters that I have my computer in my unfinished basement. The ceiling is not covered so the beams show and I didn't know if that is a bad thing. I have hung a fabric covering the water meters and water pipes. I have the table facing north which is good for me. My table is right close to the stair way going up stairs and I am not sure IF that is a bad thing too. Please let me know what to do. Thanks.

Try not to position yourself under the beam. It is bad because it is a sha qi which is pressed down.
If you cannot see it, then it is find.
If it is a wooden beam, put 6 coins string together to counter it.

So long as the table is not located right in the path of the stairs, it is fine.
Warmest Regards
