Baby boy or baby girl

Dear robert and cecil,
Somebody suggested to my friend that to have a baby boy she needs to hang a lotus string in her West
direction which is her childrens direction according to 8 mansion and for a baby girl a string of pearls. Can you please advise.

I think that is more of a superstition than Feng Shui.
Personally, I do not think there is anything about traditional Feng Shui about this.
If anyone have any other opinion on this, feel free to share it.
