The builder has suggested putting the collection cistern for this well in the basement of the house. Is this a good or bad idea? If bad, then where should one locate the well in relation to the house? Thank you.
Posted February 20, 200322 yr Staff Dear Michele,1. Usually, there is no issue if the collection cistern is in the form of a tap.2. It should be treated as just any other pipes.3. But more importantly, it should not be located at the centrepoint of your landed property.Nor allow it to criss cross underneath the house. For a landed property, it is equally important that the sewerage pipes (where possible) run at the back of the house and out of the house. From what you had mentioned, therefore, it does not seem to pose any problems.Warmest regards,Cecil Quote On 2/20/2003 4:45:00 PM, Anonymous wrote:dear Cecil:We are building a new home forwhich we must drill a well tosupply water to the property. The builder has suggestedputting the collection cisternfor this well in the basementof the house.
