Hello Master Cecil (my Dad's name by the way :))
I am so totally confused after much research on the net regarding directionality. I am attempting to establish the Ba-Gua in my apartment and have found articles stating to use Magnetic North and others that indicate 0 degrees is South. Help!! As I live in an apartment (building faces the N-NE direction, and my door to my apt. faces South-Southwest, I am also confused as to what direction to consider the House Facing direction. I would appreciate any input. Thank you, Susan

Dear Susan,
As the word "Compass School" Feng Shui suggests, it is the actual use of the magnetic compass i.e. to take a reading of the home/surroundings.
And the "Traditional Authentic Compass School of Feng Shui" takes into consideration, the magnetic needle direction in relation to the position of a home or office or site.
Therefore, anything that relates to `fixed' template is not really based on the Compass School of Feng Shui. For example some western "Black Hat Sect" type of FS, simple has a fixed layout plan and this is placed against the main door.
Warmest Regards,
Cecil

Thank you so much Cecil for your very prompt response :) I think I feel most comfortable following the Traditional Compass School of thought, so I feel better about the current layout of my home. Thank you again and many blessings, Susan
