Posted December 4, 200321 yr Staff Dear Anon,Yes, placing too many wind chimes can indeed be an "over-kill" especially if one uses the light weight alluminium type of wind chime.For those using the much heavier copper (hollow rod) with an I-ching coin clinger, this type, in my opinion, makes almost few or no sound at all. (Even in heavy winds). Perhaps, some of these, (for decoration) is not an "over-kill" since they are (nearly totally ineffective in making large sounds).Why not consider planting plants or shrubs on the fence or use "day" curtains. Both are equally acceptable.
