I am new here , would like to check how to know the house period and the star by using flying star methed , because I just brought a house (Facing South , main door facing south west) .Need to understand how to improve the feng shui of the house.

Dear Yak Heng,
If you are D.I.Y. Feng Shui, then, you may have to spent more effort in understanding the various Shapes and Forms as well as Compass School Feng Shui (which includes Flying Star Feng Shui).
Frankly, you may have to `burn-midnight oil' digesting as much as you can on these concepts. Else, the last resort would be to get a FS practitioner.
Since, your short question cannot be replied to in total as there are lots of concepts involved even within each Feng Shui principle/concept.
