Posted January 12, 200421 yr I have just redecorated my entrance hall and placed a mirror opposite the door (approx. 6ft away from it) although I have wind chimes placed inside the hall and a Ba Gua mirror outside above the door I have read that it is bad feng shui to place a mirror in this position. Can you suggest a cure ?Thank youAnne
Posted January 12, 200421 yr Staff Dear Anne,Yes, there are two schools of thought regarding this:1. Any mirror (especially) facing the `mouth' of the house e.g. entrance, is like deflecting beneficial qi, out of the house (instead) of `bringing' in.2. The other school of thought suggests that mirrors if placed wrongly, may not be advantages as mirrors are said to be able to "bend" light/reflect or qi. So, this is considered as a double-edged sword.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 1/12/2004 1:21:16 AM, Anonymous wrote:I have just redecorated myentrance hall and placed amirror opposite the door(approx. 6ft away from it)although I have wind chimesplaced inside the hall and aBa Gua mirror outside abovethe door I have read that itis bad feng shui to place amirror in this position. Posted January 13, 200421 yr Thank you for your prompt response. However, Will the metal wind chimes i have placed above the door i.e. in between the door and the mirror act as a cure? or would a strategically placed crystal have the desired effect? or should I move the mirror !!RegardsAnne P.S. I think the web site is excellent and very informative
Posted January 13, 200421 yr Staff Dear Anne,1. To confirm, is the mirror actually facing the main entrance door? 2. How large and how far away is it? Overall, it is still best (if the answer is Yes under Para 1) to move the mirror away. This is the cleanest method.Warmest Regards,Cecil Quote On 1/13/2004 12:18:14 AM, Anonymous wrote:Thank you for your promptresponse. Posted January 13, 200421 yr Yea it is opposite the main entrance door, approx. 6ft away , the mirror is oval approx 2ft 6 inches high x 18 inches in width. I have decided to move the mirror to another wall in the hall. Thank you once again for your assistance I really appreciate your advice.Regards Anne
