Hi,
The Eight House concept is based on year of birth, and the gua direction each have an element, so this concept that your gua is Earth is based on that.
Whereas ba zi takes into consideration the day, month, year and time of birth. So this is significantly more accurate.
The same can also be said for taking the year of birth of the ba zi element rather than the more accurate day of birth element based on the day itself. ie a year can be say Wood year, so by default a very simple analysis is Wood element, but even in the year there is a Water-Wood person, Earth-Wood person etc. That is why the ba zi true element is always taken as the most accurate form of an element as it gives you the Heaven Luck portion of ba zi.
