Image this, for example if someone it not familiar with the home, or if you lack concentration, or if there is a black out etc. Normally, that place where you come up and down the passage way should be a clear space to avoid getting knock when you through it. This is especially if you have children or someone falling down from the stair case. So in such cases you will hit the table.2.
