Dear Cecil,

Due to compressed space in my house and small kitchen layout, the optimal (from logic point of view) place to put my stove is facing the main door. However there's a wall that between the main door and stove that separates my living and kitchen area.

If there's a wall in between, is this position acceptable in feng shui ? If not, what's the best way to overcome this without relocating or changing my stove. My stove is with the button facing the main door.

Based on Shapes and Forms Feng Shui, it is considered inauspicious to have the stove face the main door.

I hope I understand what you wrote correctly.

Else, the test is: Stand at the main entrance looking into the home. If the stove cannot be seen at the main entrance, then -- this is OK.

If it can be seen but if there is a kitchen door, then, where possible try to close the door when not in use.
