Several of my rooms are divided equally into different directions. How do I know which one they belong to? Any help gratefully received. Samantha.

Dear Samantha,

You will need to apply the Eight Pie rather than Nine Grid form of the flying star. This is because flying star does not define a room by a square, it actually sector by sector. Grid form has its benefit for simple layout, but for more complex / irregular, the Eight Pie sector divison can let you know which sector falls under what influence.

This means that a room can be divided into two different influence. So you have to apply the cure according on the sector that is covering that portion of the room.

Hope that helps.

Dear Mr. Lee,

Thank you for your reply.

I am still confused, however, as I have used an 8 pie grid and the rooms in questions have equal proportions of the pie (i.e directions). I notice from the forum that this question has come up before, but unfortunately there is no posted answer.

I would really appreciate your clarification as this aspect is crucial to my understanding of Feng Shui.

I would also like to know if you use the 8 house or Flying Star systems in you off site assesments as I am considering one.

Thanks again.

Dear Samantha,

Basically, the applying of the Eight House or Flying Star is done just as in the Step 7 of this link:-

http://www.geomancy.net/resources/theories/fs-house1.htm

Each sector is 45 degree in range. So as long as the bedroom or sector falls under that 45 degree range, then the cures or fixes should be applied within that sector. Usually at the wall or window that is in that sector range.

The best example that I can give you is this sample report that Cecil does for his clients in a Full Audit.

http://www.geomancy.net/consultation/consult-home/onsiteconsultationsample-layout.htm

You need to break up the sectors into the different sectors, then evaluate what colours and elements you need to balance up the sector.

Hope that helps.
