Dear Cecil:

Almost ready to move in March to our new home. The house is a Mountain/Water Fortunate pattern, # 8 cycle. It also shows a Water count of 10. I have recently read information stating that a count of 10 neutralizes or reverses the # 2 and 5 Stars ill effects. However it may be, my home office is planned to sit NW, where the annual # 5 will be residing (the 25 year resident star is 9 in that location, M 4 and W 1). Do I try to cure # 5 in this location?. Or I go along with the count of 10 as the main cure for this star? I'd appreciate to know about your experience and opinion about this.

Dear J Seco,

Firstly, sorry for the side-track, here.

It is good to understand that under Period 8, #8 usually has a higher weightage than other stars.

Thus for example, in a sector such as the centrepoint of the home i.e. with a #8. But if there is a #5 at this sector, since both are earth stars, but because #8 is the reigning star, it is usually far more auspicious or has a higher weightage of luck than say #5.

Thus, some people may advise the hanging of a windchime at this location even if #5 is present with #8 such as the centrepoint of the home. But the windchime is equally destructive to #8. Thus, this is a lose-lose situation. Best not to hang a windchime, here.

Yes, generally, a sum of ten has equal weightage on average days. But due to time dimension in Feng Shui, should another #5 or #2 come to this sector such as the month, day or hour. Then, this sum of ten cannot handle additional #2 or #5.

Usually, if we go for safe driving course, this course is often known as "defensive" driving.

Why not be alittle more pro-active being on the defensive rather than leaving the doors open for a "sneak-attack". Thus, even with a sum of ten, we should go for some prevention rather than too late!

As mentioned above, often, it is still best to go on the "defensive". Since #9 is considered a distant luck and not as strong as #8 in it's weightage. #9 often fuels #5 or inflames it - thus this combination is not particuarly good i.e. inauspicious.

Like many safe drivers, who often go on a defensive driving, this is still the best approach

Warmest Regards,
Cecil
