I just moved to a new apartment and would like to hang a portrait that my brother (a talented artist) drew of me many years ago. Where is the best place to hang it (I'm a single woman)?

Dear Ellen,

There is often no issue in hanging a personal portait. Often, it can be hung along the staircase landing area or in the living room area or a prominent wall within the living or study room.

Only avoid hanging the portait against the same wall as the toilet bowl. Or facing a toilet or facing the kitchen entrance area.
