You want to choose a house that faces one of your 4 good direction (ie longevity/health/excellent/prosperity). You should avoid having a house facing Death or Disaster which are to be avoided at all cost if possible.

The most ideal facing direction is one where your eight house and Ba Zi drection both say suitable. ie strong water person, wood- East is good, and under eight house is East is Health, than East is the best direction for you.
