Plant in the bedroom

Lately, my sister's stayed in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and she engaged a feng shui Master/practitioner. She was told to do a major renovationto their house. Moreover, each of them have to change their room. As my niece was told to placed a plant in her room asher element is fire. As the bedroom is a Yin location, plants are Growing and do create some form of Yang 'activity'. My niece telephone meask for my adviceand Itold her as I do not want to interfer (busybody). Please advice me am I doing the right path or wrong. I feel bad if anything happen and if I tell them I do not want to offendthefeng shui Master.
