Not to display 2006 calendar until 1 Jan 2006

Dear Cecil,

The New Year 2006 is in two days' time. I was told not to display the new 2006 calender on the desk, on the wall or in the home or office until 1 Jan 06. The new calender should be kept away from sight until 1 Jan. This will then bring good luck and overall good year for the individual. Not sure what is the logic behind or if this is just superstition. Maybe there is some truth. Any views?
