This picture shows circular steps radiating outwards to ward of poision arrows or sha.
This is similar to the Ming Tang or a circular pool of water outside a building radiating outwards.



Similarly, one can cut a piece of carpet to be placed at the Main Entrance door to ward of a poision arrow.
