How do we know the right direction to place a bed?

Says our best direction is west, we are laying on the bed with headboard behind our head:

Does the west should bebehind our head or our feet shoud face west?

The best way to define the direction is by the positioning of your head and feet.

ie say your best direction is West. This means that your head should be pointing West and your feet will be pointing in the opposite direction East.

So this menas your headboard will be behind your head at the west.
