Posted July 27, 200619 yr I have recently moved to a new flat. My bedroom shares a common wall with the kitchen and my head faces the kitchen wall. On the other side of the wall is the sink and water heater. When sleeping I face the NE which is my longevity direction. I have hung a tapestry on the wall, is there anything more or better I can do to make the bedroom better. The bedroom is in the w/sw of the flat with doors to balcony and balcony facing west. Thank you.
Posted July 28, 200619 yr Staff Dear Karen, 1. Honestly, there is not much that can be done in such a situation. 2. According to the Commonsense approach to Feng Shui, the primary concern is the increased likelihood of a fire originating from the kitchen. Therefore, it is generally not advisable to have a bedroom, door, or wall adjacent to the kitchen. However, in contemporary settings, the installation of fire sprinklers (or, if unavailable, the strategic placement of smoke detectors) is highly recommended. 3. If your residence is constructed with brick walls (or solid brick walls), it is preferable compared to having gypsum or wooden walls that separate the bedroom from the kitchen area. 4. Much of your concern is likely psychological in nature. It is advisable to set aside the aforementioned worries. I believe there are additional aspects you can explore to enhance your Feng Shui.
