I just bought a house. The staircase is in the middle of the house and unfortunately runs into the master bedroom. Is this considered two major leaks? I'm planning to add light on top the staircase and hang a convex mirror and a hexagram Ba-gua on top ofthe bedroomdoor. Are they going to cure the problems? Please let me know if you have other suggestions.

Dear Lalita,

1. Never hang a convex mirror and/or a hexagram Ba-gua inside the home. It is considered very inauspicious.

2. Since you have not or may not intend to do a Feng Shui audit, it is still best to leave the current situation alone. In my opinion, as far as I can understand, so long as the staircase has a turning and not a straight staircase, this is considered acceptable -- not perfect, thou.
