STICKY::It's pure Common sense!
1. I have always trained my mind to ask this question: "Has common sense to do with this question?" 2. In my opinion, you would be pleasantly surprised to learn that many seemingly Feng Shui or even Grand Mother's tales are rooted in pure common sense! 3. Currently, it is even an uphill task for me to try to collate many so called Feng Shui or Feng Shui related questions into one link. 4. Where it is pure common sense that leads to some thinking that it is some higher form such as a Feng Shui concept or theory! 5. The next time, you try to have a paradiym shift by asking the question: "It is just pure common sense?" You will be pleasantly surprised, when you figure out put-two and two together! 5.1 Every day life is also like that.... 6. Even an ordinary Cow sense geomancer like me; will never take every thing for granted as pure Fung Sway! Only if on occassions; I can't link it to common sense; would I say YEAP! this is based on the "Art and Science of Feng Shui" (and not the wrong pronunciation of Fung Sway) Got it? Get it? Series...

Toilet behind the Altar Table
You wrote: "I saw yr posting that should not place as if god is guarding yr house. " Frankly, this should not be taken as a fatal error as in many situations; there are not much choice, here. And furthermore, it depends on the specific type of deity. For example; Guan Gong or also known as Guan Ye; is often placed "guarding" the door; thus, for him or his figurine; facing the door is often the perfect choice! There are still many who the twin guardians of temple deities drawn onto the doors of temples and thus assume that it is similar to the home. There is no right or wrong answers, here. And since these are deities; come-on.. they are not suppose to be "petty" - by right. Of course, it does not mean that we don't give them due respect. Therefore, as humans; we don't like the deity to face the bedroom area. As often, married couples "do some performance" and the deity may end up getting sore eyes of sort. Your attachment is fragemented.. anyway, the location you place or going to place the altar does not seem the best location. Given that as you had said; it shares the same wall as the toilet. In addition, it faces a bedroom (of course the wardrope and it can even "peer" into the bedroom area. The side wall to the left of the altar is not a major issue. So long as the deity is not flushed towards this wall; then it is ok. As placing the figurine too close to this wall does not give it sufficient paranomic view (blocked by the left side wall).

Stairs in front of my main door
Apologies...frankly, the worst thing is all text, text and text. It is a totally wrong ball game for Shapes and Forms Fung Sway (Feng Shui).

Must Stove, Fridge and Sink Form triangle position?
1) May I know must stove, frigde and sink form 3 triangle angle like the one in the attachment? Is this the best combination in kitchen fengshu? - Please refer to my earlier reply. "Cow-sense" can explain this. 2) Can Conventional Oven/Microwave oven places besides a fridge? - No issue. Since as explained in the earlier thread, many geomancers consider a boxed up fridge as = metal element. Only some consider it water element. - For those who feel that it is a water element; perhaps; search for such fellows and you might want to post a question to that fella. 3) Can Conventional Oven/Microwave oven faced kitchen toilet or window? - For facing toilet:- This is commonsense. Go think about it. In fact, there were many postings in the past, in this forum where I wrote the rationale. - window? It depends. 4) Can stove place beside a window? - Again, you don't need a Cow-sense geomancer to repeat like a parrot. Please use some commonsense to work this out yourself. 5) Can stove place facing washing machine or clothes dryer? - It depends on the height of the table-top of the stove vs a front loading washing machine. And if the glass port is facing the stove direction OR no. 6) Can sink or fridge face window? - No issue. 7) In fengshui view, one always advise the stove not to be near to sink or fridge. But how far is consider near? Can you advise a estimated distance to consider as safe distance - Common standard is try to keep at least a 1 foot distance betwen the two. 😎 Any particular rules in Feng Shui regarding overhead cooker Hood? - No. Try to avoid any sewerage pipe or exposed beam above the stove. 9) In term of Feng Shui, what is the impact of using Gas Cooker Stove, Induction Cooker Stove or Ceramic Cooker Stove? Eg Induction Cooker does not have fire , so will have any impact in Fengshui? - Please note that induction cooker is a modern invention. So frankly got to play by the ear. Anybody's guess. Your guess is as good as mine.

Kitchen between good and bad sector
Your kitchen comes under two main sectors North and North-West. Simply, in plain English: which would deem as having the highest influence on that sector; that's all.

Must Stove, Fridge and Sink Form triangle position?
These are the MAJOR considerations: 1. Compass directions are always considered when planning the kitchen. 2. For example, NW = Fire at Heaven's Gate; Thus this has to be considered, 1st priority, first. 3. Many geomancers would look at the bazi of the lady of the house to determine the best facing direction of the stove. 4. Some other sectors that are often looked at by various geomancers are: North sector and NE (devil's gate) etc... 5. The main idea of making it a triangle is again commonsense! This "ensures" that most likely in a proper triangle; the stove and sink often will not meet each other. 6. As for the fridge; some geomancers consider it as a water element. As they think interms of the interior items. 7. However, it can be argued that a frige is always closed most of the time and it should be (in my opinion) by majority consensus that it can be considered as the metal element.

Lamp and Shape act as a Partition
You wrote: 1) May I know any particular colour of the shade or pattern of the shade? 1. If one further applies Flying Star Feng Shui, then plot a flying star chart. In the sample attachment, each bedroom's best colours are mentioned. Then if you want to apply them then use the best colours associated with that room. 2) If to put side table and lamp beside the bed, must it be two table and lamp on each side of the bed. If due to space constraint and put just one table and lamp on one of the side , is it ok? 2. Please apply Commonsense, here. If I am not mistaken, you have uttered your own reply to your question, please. Thus don't need a cow-sense geomancer for this rite?

Kitchen between good and bad sector
1. The good news is that the stove is at the fringe of the NW and not directly at the NW cardinal point. This is a plus point. 2. There seems to be an opening in-front of the wash basin. While equally there is a large opening at NW area. This is to determine which qi has the strongest influence rather than be nic-picky over whether the stove lies at North or NW.

Mirror Facing Dinning Table
These are futher considerations: 1. By the way the "certain group of people" you mentioned are:- 1.1. Mainly, the Cantonese dialect group. The idea here is, yes, the mirror would reflect bountiful food. 1.2. The other group I am afraid especially especially for those new condominiums are the Interior Designers (IDs)... as often, there are not much work needed; thus some ID's would often recommend the placement of large mirror(s) to make the living area looks larger.. In addition, they often say that it would be good to place a partition. It is all about marketing and in my opinion; one way of getting more work from the apartment/unit. 1.3. From a Flying Star Feng Shui perspective; geomancers would give reason that a mirror at a strategic location can even be positive e.g. reflect good "star numbers". While placing mirrors at the wrong sectors are detrimental. 1.4. Mirrors are often said to help "carry" qi further e.g. some consider it ok to have it at the staircase area but some give negative comments on it. 2. Frankly, don't be ridicious. Why? 2.1. Are you staying in a lived in house or a sterile environment? 2.2. Therefore, what is so insanely wrong with computers, plants, books... etc... 2.3. A crime to have them that one need to cover them up? 3. Therefore, don't be ridicious and start to cover the computer, books etc.. etc.. might as well take down or cover the mirror right? 4. There are many other commonsense considerations... no point for me to go on and on this subject matter. But seriously, many of us have lots of gagets and items in a home. 5. If you feel that some of these gadets are in the wrong place; I would gladly take them off your hands e.g. Ipad 2, Iphone 4 or (soon 5) or why don't you donate them to the poor? If it makes you feel better? 6. The morale of the story: "Don't end up like the dog's, please, lah!"

Mirror Facing Dinning Table
1. There is no major issue with rectangular or oval type of mirror. Circle mirrors are generally still ok. 2. Commonsense Feng Shui: 2.1. It is always not good to use two exact sized mirrors. As it symbolises a split. 2.2. Often if one stays at high floors; sometimes one single piece of mirror may not fit the lift; 2.3. Thus the contractor's workers would not be too free to walk up the stairs. Thus if really cannot have one piece than three pieces of mirrors. 2.4 Again under commonsense Feng Shui; many dining tables does not have a courtesy board below the table. Thus, if one has a full lenght mirror; and if some lady or ladies were to seat "improperly" say with their legs wide open... little boys or even some men would find it tempting to look "inside"... 3. Some say.. the illustrations in the attachment tells a million words... TRUE or FALSE?

Enquiry on my house fengshui
These are some considerations: 1. In my opinion, what you are trying to practise is in my knowledge simply called "Pseudo-Fung SWAY". Or simply "deceptive Fung-the-Sway. 2. It is akin to taking a sugar coated pill and later on feeling good about it. 3. Actually the main purpose of finding the correct "frontage" which many automatically assume is the main entrance. 4. Purpose of finding the main frontage is for the purpose of working out the "correct" Flying Star chart. 5. As for suitability of the home; it is often mere deception or Pseudo-Fung the Sway that if we can change to our best direction; don't you think for some feel "damn" good about it? 6. This exegeration of "damn" good about it .. is akin to taking a sugar coated pill, that's all.

Opposing Favourable Directions
In this worked SAMPLE illustration: 1. Take a look at Bedroom 2. 2. Since "Mum's" eight house chart shows Heath while "Dad's" chart shows "irritation" at SOUTH sector; 3. Thus in the illustration; it is preferred that if "mum and dad" occupies bedroom 2; "Mum" should sleep closer to the bedroom window while "Dad" sleeps closer to the bedroom door side. 4. This is one of the key areas the Eight House chart is used; for.

Opposing Favourable Directions
Further to what I had mentioned, below in red; this link:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Master_Bedroom:_Which_side_must_I_sleep_on (1) I'll sleep close to the west side while she sleeps close to the South side, as shown in the picture attached below, will this solve the problem? Yes, this is usually the advice given.

Is there a sha qi from the placement of wardrobe next to my master bed?
1. Please see attachment. 2. Can you see the marking in RED: "A" aimed towards "B". 3. For example, the corner of a wardrope (edge) has a poison arrow depending on the material of the wardrope. For a normal plywood type of wardrope; the poison arrow RANGE from A to B is approximately 2 feet distance.

Opposing Favourable Directions
Just took a look at the store room: 1. It is tiny 2. It is generally in an "enclosed" area Thus in my opinion, unless it is at "frontage" areas where there are openings at that sector; then best not to knock it down. But given that it is at the location in the layout; in general; I don't see a major issue, here.

MS#2 , WS#5, BS#6 in Tian Yi sector
1. Frankly, you have to ask yourself: How many bedrooms have you or have left? That you can accomodate your kid? 2. Or if you have a study and could change or swop the study to this room. 3. To minimize any issues; some prevention; try to avoid warm white lights in the bedroom and if possible avoid yellow curtains or bedsheets. 4. However, some ask: If I can't use bright yellow, then how? 4.1 So long as e.g. the bedsheet has all the primary colours: GREEN, BLUE (or BLACK), RED and YELLOW; 4.2 then if all these elements are present then just avoid the ceiling lights or lights within that bedroom in "warm white". 4.3 Thus use cool day lights in that room. The above is just an illustration ...

North Facing Apartment
(4) But the main door is directly facing the other apartment's main door. I read that luck or good qi will be sucked away by the other apartment or vice versa, what are the remedies? COMMENTS: In my opinion, it depends! Sound more like: Grandmother's tale. COMMENTS: In Singapore (SGP) in my opinion for condominiums; as high as 30 or more percent of flats have doors that face each other. For public housing; nowadays, this may be around 20 percent or less. COMMENTS: Thus in my opinion, the above is no big deal. Predominantly many homes in Beijing are North to South facing for a reason... because of the "dusts" blowing from the north.

Is there a sha qi from the placement of wardrobe next to my master bed?
1. Under Shapes and Forms Feng Shui; if the toilet door is next to the master-bed; often a geomancer may advice one to place a bedside table WITH a table lamp. 2. This is symbolic of a "partition" between the bed and the toilet door. 3. Otherwise, there is no issue if no bedside table exists. 4. As mentioned in many of the previous forum message, the edge of any cabinet or wardrope : at 45 degree angle, it pose a "poison arrow". 4.1 And depending on the type of material; it would mean how far the poison arrow extends. 4.2. Thus if the cabinet is made of hardwood; then at 45 degree angle of a corner; the sha qi or poison arrow can be around 2 1/2 feet distance. If the cabinet is of softwood it can be around 1 feet to 2 feet poison arrow. 4.3. But if the corner or edge is a solid wall; then usually the poison arrow extends to a range of 1 metre. 5. Thus try not to have too close a cabinet to the bed.

Opposing Favourable Directions
My comments in red (1) I'll sleep close to the west side while she sleeps close to the South side, as shown in the picture attached below, will this solve the problem? Yes, this is usually the advice given. (2) I've listed the position of a buddha altar in red & it's facing the door, is this position ideal? It is quite normal to have an ordinary buddha altar to face a door. As to the colour red; limited info to go on. (3) Our apartment 1 main door is directly facing the other apartment's main door. I read that luck or good qi will be sucked away by the other apartment or vice versa, can I place a pair of Qilin outside to solve the problem? So long as your neighour don't react adversely e.g. place a convex or concave bagua mirror facing you as a reaction to what you had done is OK. (4) Store room next to the main door is also not good right, what if I knock down the part of the store room wall nearest to the main door, as shown in the picture? Such questions best to plot a flying star chart to check what stars are at that location. For example, if the storeroom had currently locked bad stars e.g. #5 or #2 or combinations of them and knocking the wall down and releasing especially such stars may be detrimental.

Enquiry on my house fengshui
The main consideration is this:- http://wiki.geomancy.net/wiki/Feng_Shui_Triage The Feng Shui Triage Doctors may need to examine a sick patient and conduct some tests. And only after the test findings can the doctor, understand your health problem(s). With Feng Shui is the same thing. Even a Feng Shui practitioner needs to gather as much facts and even chart out the "birth-chart" of a home to understand better the situation, before they can "prescribe" cures or enhancements for a home. Thus many good Feng Shui practitioners doing professional audits would:............ The above, is the tried and tested method. Otherwise, you may have to go by your own feelings... Thus it is not a matter of allowed to ask so many questions or not.. Go think about it. This Triage thing has been around for a very long time...

Two door in bedroom + flying stars
These are some considerations with regards to the current bed-head position:- 1. Just because some Fung Sway books says that a bed-head (blind-spot) is inauspicious. Some books even draw a person holding a knife and coming after the "throat" sort of thing... 2. Be realtistic, please. You QUEENsized looking bed is not small and your bedroom has TWO doors. 3. In my opinion; unfortunately, have to reserve this statement in such a situation:- "Making a mountain out of a molehill" 4. Frankly, and really, one fine day... may even result in this "Obsessive?compulsive disorder"... 5. In addition, many scholars and diligent people thru the centuries have studied and many have open book shelves! Come-on; I am sure millions of people were not torn to shreds with open bookshelves etc... 6. Seriously, if you personally think that the TV console is a threat, or other circled items is or are a threat.. then go ahead to remove them. No one stopping you. 7. Might as well make the entire bedroom "sterile". 8. In my opinion: I repeat this statement... making a mountain out of.....

Two door in bedroom + flying stars
You wrote: "According to my bed position, you said it was acceptable, but according to other books I have read the bed should never be in line with the door?" In my opinion; from your photo; a normal person when sleeping on the bed in that photo would not have their legs pointed to a door. Thus really, what are you talking about (above?) Furthermore, most if not all your bed is away from the door? Unless it is your imagination or phobia that clouds the mind?? As for the study directions... you have to use the compass and face your good directions. Really, impossible to tell whether your study directions in the photos are correct.

Two door in bedroom + flying stars
Thanks for the photos- It makes things very clear:- 1. Frankly, in my opinion; the placement of the bed is acceptable as it is in line with reasonable Shapes and Forms of this bedroom. 2. Although the bedroom door opens to another door and vice-versa; in my opinion; the "saving grace" is the "solid wall" as highlighted in YELLOW under the attachment. 3. In my opinion; it is acceptable what ever your concern; it is I believe minor or even "peanuts!". Thus, not a major issue.
