1. Many years back when vehicles (cars) were not so sophisticated, many experienced Automobile Association (AA) vehicle break-down technicians could most likely, help to "revive" a vehicle, especially if the vehicle had battery problem, alternator and even fuel (pump) and many other common faults. 2. Today, most likely if we were to call the AA for breakdown assistance, other than battery problems, their technicians would tell you... "we will arrange to tow your vehicle to any workshop that you specify!" So far, only one country I know: Germany does have a great on-site vehicle break-down service support for their autoban. 3. Here, again, opening the bonnet of a car, does not guarantee one that the car can be repaired! As nowadays, the fuel system is not so simple, some with sophisticated injection system, and others like flywheel sensors and other systems. 4. Times have changed! Thus, maybe, if one asked a question like: "is the water feature suitable for my marriage?" 20 years ago, the Geomancer will tell you (depending on a 50-50 chance), he will say, yes or no! And then cross-his fingers. 5. Today is different! For those who are ignorant of readily available tools that can most likely give more information, much like the revised software diagnostic tools, then we should be using it. The cave-man approach is "this Flying Star" is greek or latin to me! Again, too-bad! 6. In-car Entertainment system (I.C.E) Car Installers Sales, services and installation of complete car stereo systems, securities and accessories. In the past, adding or changing in-car radio systems was a breeze. Nowadays, even experienced such car installers would not want to touch especially a BMW! As they are worried that tapping the wrong wires may even explode the various air-bags. Worse! Normal installers don't have the hardware/software to activate on/off a feature! For example, if we were to fit a bluetooth or additional factory approved car alarm for a BMW, you still need to go to an authorised workshop with the necessary software to "turn" on that feature - thru the software. 1. It is highly unusual for three "normal" sized rooms to straddle the north compass direction. Usually at most two rooms are affected. 2. These are some of the considerations:- 2.1Are there any windows in these rooms? Yes/No? 2.1 Even if there are windows, are there any that are larger? 2.3 Even if we do have windows, are they opened all (most) of the time? In addition, you should check whether the breadwinner's ba zi can "accept" a water feature. For example, if the breadwinner is a weak fire or a strong water person, then, unless this is a water wealth location such as water star #8 or water star #1, then better exercise caution. 5. Otherwise, without further information obtain from say the Flying Star (birth chart of the home) then, sorry you have to do Trial and error Feng Shui. 5.1 For example, in an earliermessage, the user "insists" that I tell him whether it is good to have a water feature in his home for marriage and .... Star 1 is suppose to be a good star. If it is the water star, then often, opening the main door would be great. If it is a mountain star 1, then, it is also good but main door need not be opened (all the time) to activate it.

1. In my opinion, you have to weigh what I had mentioned earlier, such as:- 1.1. Sitting and Facing direction of stove to the female "boss" of the home 1.2. Sector in which the stove is in. 1.3. And other points that I had mentioned earlier on. 2. Traditionally, in the past, often the sink would "sit" higher than the stove. For example, the height of the stove is often at 34 inches while the sink is higher or greater than 34 inches to not more than 35 inches. This will coincide with the auspicious measurements found on the Feng Shui ruler. 3. However, in modern times (especially) in Singapore, where there are already more than 2,000 condos x at least 200 units on average. Many of these or all condo kitchen cabinets are all levelled where the sink and stove are on the same height e.g. 34 inches. Kitchen cabinet width is always a standard Feng Shui ruler auspicious length of 2 feet depth. 4. As mentioned, in an earlier message, the fridge should be considered as belonging to the metal element. Thus, some Feng Shui pracitioners felt that if the home e.g. kitchen need more "metal" element, the bigger the fridge is. (This is distinct from the colour of a fridge). Thus normal fridge that are covered in brush steel or white or off-white should be considered as belonging to the metal element. Unless of course you have an unusual colour such as red, then the colour will represent more often the fridge. 5. As your washing machine seems to be the top loading, more the better since, the stove does not really "meet" water when it is pumped up for washing clothes. Otherwise, quite alot of the material of the washing machine is "metallic". Even hard carbolite plastic may be considered as belonging to the metal element. 6. Under the Five Elements concept, especially your kind of washing machine should be overall considered as belonging to the metal element. And fire (stove) can burn or melt metal (washing machine) thus acceptable. 7. It is the other issues like, being unfortunate if the washing machine is found to occupy say the water wealth (Flying Star water star #8). Turning on the washing machine inadvertently, would ruffle the water wealth star. 8. It is this factor, that is more of a concern than say the "artificial" concern of stove facing a washing machine. Often this can be lived with since, you had mentioned that your kitchen is small and thre is really no way one can re-locate the washing machine! 9. Thus in practising Feng Shui, if one cannot really do much in a kitchen then try to "maximise luck" from elsewhere in a home! 10. And for those who stay in landed property, it is good to find out where your sewerage pipe is running on the ground level. Hopefully, it is not running below your living room sofa, or even a specific bedroom in the ground floor!

Your neighbour's Ba Gua is also using the First Heaven Sequence Trigram. And it is often (said) used as an amulet. To scare away "Chinese , Mongolian spirits" Not sure, whether it can be effective with a "christian or other race - spirits, thou".... So far, no one should be using a Ba Gua mirror (with the Later Heaven Sequence) as this is used more with Yang Geomancy or for the living only. 4. In addition, your neighbour's ba gua mirror, usually should have a "talisman or charm" on it. 5. Normally, older greenish ba gua mirror comes with a centre flat mirror. This centre mirror is an added insurance, for protection. As it is suppose to let the "spirit" see an image of itself, get scared and run - off! Sucks! 7. In the 1960's to 1970's, the tone of the mirror is greenish. In modern times most of the ba gua mirror comes in the shade ofyellowish (golden) like your neighbour's one. 8. Some homes use this type of semi-circular floor tile area to act as a modern "Ba gua". Symbolic if a curved knife (top down view) slicing away from the home - as a protection. Thus even if the neighbour places a ba gua mirror, you already have a protection. (However, this addition may be considered "illegal" as it does occupy some of common corridor space. (Don't get caught or some one complaint will do). This serves as a "silent" protection in-case a neighbour places a ba gua mirror of any kind above their door. 1. To clarify, the Luo Pan on the centre of the ba gua is meant more to generate "auspicious wealth" for the owners. One good point is that it does not have a mirror especially a conCAVE mirror which is suppose to "suck wealth". Thus, you have roughly sum up what I had mentioned earlier. 2. Thus if we put both the Luo Pan and the ba gua mirror with the trigram, then it serves TWO purposes:- 3.1 Suppose to create wealth (Luo pan in a vertical 90 degrees angle). And in addition, the Trigram on your neighbour's Ba Gua mirror is meant as a "protection" from so called evil spirits. Further to what I had mentioned, other than what I had described or illustrated, from a technical point of view, a toilet below a staircase is NOT as bad as a kitchen (or stove or anything that can catch fire). As the staircase is an important emergency exit, at least if (touch wood) there is a fire, maybe the pipes may burst and it is still water, as opposed to inflammable objects. The above is only my silly argument (as one of the good) reasons for the toilet below a staircase. Otherwise, please see my earlier comments. The above is to PACIFY those who already have a toilet (powder) room and cannot change it. Thus making those with these feel easy about it!

1. These are some of the considerations:- 1.1 Sewerage pipe ============= Most toilet or powder room often have a toilet bowl. And even if it does not have one, the "drainage" e.g. the wash basin in a powder room often has to drain into a sewerage pipe and not into the home's rain water catchment drain. Often, a good designed home often always have a toilet or a power room, sharing one EXTERNAL wall. If so, it almost guarantees that the sewerage pipe often would not run from a "critical" area of a home to the toilet (or powder room). Imagine, if we have a guest or a study room at the rear of the home. And often, a sewerage pipe need to reach the toilet (perhaps as you had mentioned) close to the staircase. It has to run somewhere from the exterior and cutting thru be it a bedroom (guest or study) or the dining area or even living room area - the shortest cut to it! "In a very old article of mine" something like "Dangers of Underground water", there was a real life situation where, in Germany, it was found that there was a higher incidence of cancer especially for those bed is immediately above a sewerage pipe! Thus, it makes more sense to have a toilet SHARING one external wall. Here, it is hoped that the sewerage pipe can run from the exterior wall rather than intrude into the interior of the home. In addition, ONE EXTERIOR wall will ensure sufficient ventilation for a toilet - air / or gas or german gas to dissipate out of the home! If so, make sure that family members don't eat too much garlic or onions or else they will pass off too much gas... and certainly your toilet will end up a "stinky" place! Yucks!! 1.2 The "thirsty Hippo" In Singapore, the TV ad says to buy the "thirsty Hippo". It is a dehumifier where it is sold with crytals to absorb humidity or moisture! Imagine, if one has a toilet smack below the staircase, without ventilation (assuming) it does not share an external wall! And imagine if family members have a habit to wet the toilet, and no amount of "thirsty hippo" would help as many of the items e.g. store room closeby would be mouldy! Imagine storing your precious Luvi Vitton or Channel leather bags! They would be useless in no time! Thus, honestly, only lousy "architects" would dream of such a configuration for our home! Please put a stop to this!

1. This can be "explained" from a "Commonsense Approach" to Feng Shui. 2. Why is it that many Feng Shui practitioners say that a toilet or near to a toilet is no good? In the past, many Chinese homes do not have a toilet in the home, the toilet is a distance away from the home. 3. I have mentioned this many times: 3.1 One day, while driving along a highway, there was this radio feature, where this fella, says that where-ever one place one's toothbrush in the toilet, there sure to be "germs" on it. This is especially true, if we flush the toilet (bowl) and the fine mists shoots out all over the place. 3.2 And his solution? Buy his disinfection tablets much like those for disinfecting false teeth! 3.3 Come on! Many or ALL of us, always use the same toothbrush for at least a few months! Surely a little bit of germs makes most of us resistant. Unless we are suddenly weak, then it may be an issue. 4. The idea is that "worse-off" are those that have a toilet door opened towards say the stove. And if we do not close the toilet door and if we place the toilet bowl sit flat, when we flush the toilet bowl, the "mists" would fly and even reach areas like the stove surrounding. More - of a hygiene consideration. 5. That is why also, it is advisable not to place a fridge facing a toilet door (particularly) facing a toilet bowl. Here, if the fridge does not have those uv or baterial inhibitors, when we open the fridge door and at the same time flush the toilet bowl, some of these germs may just get into our fridge. Thus, fruits, vegetables would "decay" earlier. 6.
